Where To Eat & Shop In LA This Winter

Hey lovelies! I have been traveling for 2 weeks but I am finally home and ready to write more articles for you all! First up is some great places to eat or shop at in LA this winter.

Fun fact about me, I actually used to live in LA. My family still lives there so I actually just got back from visiting them. While I was on my little vacation, I checked a few restaurants and stores that everyone’s been raving about!

Catch Rooftop Restaurant

8715 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90069, USA

If you follow any LA based blogger, you’ve most likely seen them post a photo at Catch. I brought my mom here for brunch. Something you should know ahead of time is that you must make a reservation, or else you have no chance of getting a table. Parking can be hard to find around so you are better off taking an Uber. The dress code is definitely more chic/dressy. You can get away with wearing jeans and sneakers, but it’s probably better if you wear a casual dress or jeans with heels.

My favourite thing about Catch was the decor and the environment. It is a rooftop restaurant with a gorgeous view of West Hollywood. They have an inside area as well as an outdoor. The inside has so much greenery and adorable seats. Outdoor you have patio tables as well as some couches for bigger groups just grabbing drinks. They have a beautiful granite bar with over 50 bottles displayed showcasing all the different alcohol.

They serve brunch and dinner as well as drinks. It can be a great place for Sunday brunch but also for Saturday night drinks. I was so tempted to go back later at night for cocktails because the menu looked fabulous but sadly I’m not legal drinking age in LA yet.

The only downside about this restaurant was that the service wasn’t very good. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful while others seemed rude. Maybe I just went at a busy time but one waitress didn’t even look at me when I spoke to her and never came to check on us to see if we needed anything.

The food at Catch was overall decent. They have many options for vegans and gluten intolerants. You must try the avocado toast. It is to die for!

Overall, Catch is great for big groups, taking chic Instagram photos and eating healthy food. You must check it out!

For Love & Lemons Pop up Shop

741 N. La Cienega Blvd. Los Angeles, California 90069

If you haven’t heard of For Love & Lemons, you must be living under a rock. It is an online store that sells very feminine, some would even say vintage inspired clothing. They are mostly known for their dresses and lingerie but also sell adorable swimsuits, jewelry, sweaters and more. Their clothing reminds me of the girls walking through the south of France or lounging on the beach in Malibu, California.

As much as I love online shopping, it can be such a hassle when it comes to shipping and sizing. Luckily for us, For Love & Lemons has opened a pop-up shop in West Hollywood until February! I was able to visit the store on opening day and I must say that it is probably one of the cutest pop-up shops ever! It is a giant pink store with three floors. On the first floor, they nicely display all the clothing on racks and the lingerie on tables. At the back, you have some dressing rooms. The second floor is called the “Vip Lounge” with more dressing rooms. The third floor is an outdoor rooftop patio with white iron chairs and tables. It is such a cute place to drink some coffee in the sunshine while taking a break from shopping!

Tintorera Restaurant

2815 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026

Whenever I go to LA, I always try to go to a Mexican restaurant. After all, LA is kind of known for having some of the most amazing Mexican cuisines in the world (well besides Mexico of course). On my last visit, my friends told me about this new hotspot called Tintorera.

Chef Maycoll Calderón from Venezuela is a famous chef who has opened restaurants in NYC, Puerto Rico, and Mexico City. He has now graced us with his amazing cooking skills by opening a Mexican-style restaurant in LA! Located in Silver Lake, this interesting restaurant has an outdoor patio as well as a unique indoor area where you can try different dishes of meats, fish, vegetables and handmade tortillas. Besides the mouth-watering food, they also have an insane drink menu with colourful cocktails!

Sorella Boutique

7811 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046

I discovered Sorella Boutique about a year ago when I was walking on Melrose and saw this huge mural saying “girls tour”. Instantly, I fell in love with the store and if you’re into street style, so will you!

What is great about Sorella’s is that they have all the latest trends. It is said that Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Sofia Richie shop there whenever they are on Melrose Avenue! They sell great brands such as IAMGIA and even their own label. Sorella became popular for their merch called “Girls Tour”. The clothes are definitely more expensive than for example Forever21 or H&M but they are such good quality and completely worth it. I am obsessed with all their sunglasses. Seriously, I own like 5 pairs!
